sore throat, deeper voice, lump in neck.

- not there yet -

first three weeks we’re a breeze until we hit 4th week. she felt nauseous, blisters in her throat, mouth, and then when we hit the 5th week her skin broke open on the outside. from the bottom of her ears, to her chest. this is from june til july 9th 08

fatigue, nauseous, loss of hair, very very weak.

My worked in a nursing home that she worked for, for 7 years as a caregiver. they became like family to her, and I. ( i work there now) that they dedicated nursing home week to her and raised money for her. it was so unexpected but brought tears to our eyes.

never ending pain...Views: 346

well i just got the call from my moms husband bobby & hes all the way in queens new york working. he told me my mom keeps calling him and telling him how much pain shes in. she said her throat is swollen & she has a 100 fever but doesnt wanan go to the hospital?! right now i dont have any transportation so i called my aunt and shes gonna go see how bad it really is. my mom told my aunt “im taking a cancer break’ and she hasnt made any appointments for her biopsy! i even called her today from work telling her to give me the numbers, so i can make the appointments but she ‘lost’ them. i am so beside me self…..what to do..shes is def not a easy patient!

Dear Rachael; I can not believe I would come here to see how upset a friend might be and not have support. I am so sad that you have this situation upon you right now. There is no way to explain how a person in pain is going to cry for help, nor is there any way for you to understand exactly how to be there or what you can do at that moment. If I can help you in any way it would be; You know your Mom pretty well, and if she is calling out for help that means HELP. The reason I say that is; Mom’s try to protect their young and don’t want to interrupt their children’s lives. I take her call as serious. Even if it isn’t that bad, you need to be there for her. I would want to do that if I could. I hope you want this for her too.
This is a very tough time but you know this has been coming, even though you never thought it would get to this time. Just be there, like you thought you would be many times before. There is no good time to retreat.

Good Luck, Patty

Oh, honey! How is your mom? Has she found any relief from the pain? How are you? I can only imagine how hard it is as a caretaker. I know you will continue to be there for her. I’m sending hugs and prayers for your whole family!

XOXO
