sore throat, deeper voice, lump in neck.

- not there yet -

first three weeks we’re a breeze until we hit 4th week. she felt nauseous, blisters in her throat, mouth, and then when we hit the 5th week her skin broke open on the outside. from the bottom of her ears, to her chest. this is from june til july 9th 08

fatigue, nauseous, loss of hair, very very weak.

My worked in a nursing home that she worked for, for 7 years as a caregiver. they became like family to her, and I. ( i work there now) that they dedicated nursing home week to her and raised money for her. it was so unexpected but brought tears to our eyes.

moms still in the hospital but stll doing her radiation treatments. she’ll be fully done with treatments on july 11th which is my birthday. she’s really really sick still and in a lot of pain from her throat. she has blisters inside and its burning and bleeding =/ it’s hard for her to eat through her tube so shes hooked up and their feeding her slowly. i feel so sad she told me not to come to the hospital she wants to be by herself. =[ she also told me their checking her for MERSA b/c her ear has been draining.. so as of today shes in isolation.

I really hope we beat this..

Dear Rachel; Now I feel kind of foolish since I did not go back to your earlier posts to see that it was your Mom who is fighting the Cancer. I now have a clearer picture. Even so, you are going through a very tough time, as an onlooker and daughter. I also have the experience of hand holding my Mom who passed away 30 years ago of Breast cancer, and my step mom 2 years ago with lung cancer. I have a good deal of experience in feeling all those helpless moments when you really wish you could wave a magic wand and have the whole nightmare become just that, something that is not real but imagined. I am now also fighting for myself and that is a whole other side to Cancer. You will find that no matter as a caretaker or fighter of Cancer, the family seems to grow and for that reason I am eternally grateful to have Blog for A Cure in my life. I don’t even remember how I got here but the question needs no answer because I have been found or let’s say I found a wonderful network where people really do care. Good luck and keep all of us posted on your Mom’s brave battle. Weezie

hey Rachel,, i want to talk this opportunity to say thank you for showing what love truly is..
As you are showing all of us,, love always begins by on giving and caring for others,, and you show us just how deep that love is for your mother but i bet that it goes far behond what many cannot understand about love.. love is always about putting others first, the one who truly requires that love ,, you have passed it on and it grows withing the other person… thank you for sharing that love with your mother but it almost always takes something to happen for us to really show that love outright,, God has blessed you in a special way and with a love that far surpassed all others,,, thank you… I shall keep your mother in my prayers, so that He may heal things or at least have the strenght, to over come
God bless, you and your mon in a special way
and thanks for not being afraid to show that love to everyone.. for that is the best and only way to really be there for someone.
Keep up the good work.. your friend in prayer
Ray …
